Professor Hannah Bradby

Co lead for Co-Creating Concepts of Care and Policy, Capacity Building and Impact

Professor Hannah Bradby is a sociologist and writer with extensive international experience, having taught in Sweden, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. She is currently Professor of Sociology at Uppsala University.

Within CARE-HSC, Hannah co-leads the Co-Creating Concepts of Care workstream and the Policy, Capacity Building and Impact core theme. Her research is funded by bodies including the Swedish Research Council, the Medical Research Council, and the Economic and Social Research Council.

Hannah has edited leading journals such as Frontiers in Sociology, Ethnicity and Health, and the Sociology of Health and Illness monograph series, convened international conferences, and contributed as an expert reviewer for research councils, charities, health services, and academic publishers. She also mentors early-career researchers and teaches across medical, sociology, and public health courses, with a focus on inclusive and evidence-informed education.
