How We're Guided
CARE-HSC is guided by people with lived experience, professional expertise, and a shared commitment to race equity in health and social care. Our work is shaped through collaborative leadership and meaningful involvement, ensuring that decisions are informed by those most affected by racial inequities, as well as those working within the system. Through our Steering Commitee and Stakeholder Opinion Group, we centre accountability, co-production, and real-world insight at every stage of the project, from research design to delivery and impact.
Steering Committee
The CARE-HSC Steering Committee provides strategic oversight and guidance for the project, ensuring that all activities remain aligned with its goals of promoting race equity, inclusion, and impact across health and social care. The Committee brings together individuals with lived and professional expertise from academia, health and social care, policy, community, charity, and creative sectors. Members provide independent advice, constructive challenge, and strategic guidance to the Core Management Group, helping to shape the project’s direction, priorities, and real-world influence.
Steering Committee members attend regular meetings, review progress against project milestones, and contribute their expertise to strengthen research, engagement, and dissemination. Members may also participate in events, workshops, and other opportunities to support CARE-HSC’s vision. Through this work, the Committee ensures that CARE-HSC remains inclusive, evidence-based, and community-driven, helping to translate research into meaningful change.
