Meet the Team

Kalya is a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology at King’s College London and a member of the CARE-HSC team. Within Workstream 2 (Informal Carers), she is conducting an umbrella review exploring the lived experiences of racism and discrimination among racially minoritised carers, with a focus on how individuals respond to, cope with, and navigate these experiences across different care contexts. She is also supporting evaluative activities related to the Triangle of Care and Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) pilot.

Kalya holds an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from University College London, and her broader research experience spans digital health, with a focus on how technology can be used to improve access to care and support for vulnerable and underserved populations. She has also worked on projects relating to healthy mobility in community settings and the management of post-infection/post-viral conditions in primary care.

Her research interests centre on the use of technology, lived experience, and evidence synthesis to support more equitable, accessible, and person-centred health and care systems.
